Guys, I wanted to reach out to you and ask for your help with something. We’re getting close to finishing up our full length release Hard Times Go. It will be our fourth album, and we’re really excited that we’ve had the chance to make it. We’re running a kickstarter campaign this month to help fund the Vinyl pressing. For anyone who’s not familiar with Kickstarter, it’s a funding platform for creative projects. You can learn more about it here. We need you guys to help us make this record our best release yet!
We’ve had some great things happen in the last few months, and this feels like a moment that we can really grab on to, and accomplish some of the goals we’ve had for a really long time. It’s an exciting time to be making music because there are no more rules. We’re trying to find our own way, and make our own rules. Each one of you has stumbled across our music in your own unique way. Everything we’ve ever done has been totally DIY and grass-roots. Being able to make music that connects with you as an audience is something we value immeasureably.
I’ve gotten into the habit of writing songs as lifelines. That has never been more true than it has this past year. Hard Times Go is all about overcoming adversity, and ending up being stronger for it. Making music is an act of self preservation. We couldn’t have done any of this without your support, and that’s something that we’ll never take for granted.
So here goes nothing. We have big dreams for this record, and we’d love it if you could be a part of that, in any way you can. As usual, I have a whole lot more to say, about the record and about all our plans for the kickstarter. You can find all the info at our Kickstarter page. We also shot a short video about it with my super talented sister in law Mary Kate. You can check it out here.
Here are some ways you can help:
Pledge your support with as a backer. Think of it as a pre-order, with all kinds of special deluxe packages available and lots of super fun stuff. We’re going to be pressing the album on 12” translucent red vinyl this time around. Also, as an exclusive for our Kickstarter backers we’re going to record a special alternate acoustic version of the entire album. More about the rewards here.
Share our page and Kickstarter video with family and friends via email, or facebook, or however you do this sort of thing. This is the link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/648896607/new-beat-radio-album-hard-times-go
Do you write a blog? Or Tumblr or anything like that? If you could write a quick post about Beat Radio to share with your readers that would be incredible. We’re calling on the powers of the internet to make big things happen, and we need all the help we can get in telling our story to as many people as possible.
We’ve got 30 days to make it happen.
This feels kind of magic to us. What do you guys think?
