Now Playing Tracks

a most irreverent mission - beat radio update

Hi guys, hope you’re all excellent.

Also, I have some cool stuff I wanted to tell you about.

First, maybe you heard that we’re going to be putting out a new record this fall?! (it was really hard to refrain from using ALL CAPS just then)

I think in the last email I sent you I was trying to rally everyone into joining our Kickstarter for Hard Times Go, quoting Friday Night Lights and stuff.  Well, we’re thrilled to announce that thanks to everyone’s amazing support, we’ll be releasing our 4th full length LP this fall on our label, Awkward For Life Records.
I finished writing the last song for the album today.   Can’t wait for you guys to hear it.

Also, do you guys live near Brooklyn?  Because we are playing a free show there this Thursday night.  It’s a Spike Hill in Williamsburg.  It’s been little while, and we srsly can’t wait to rock out.  You should definitely maybe come and drink beer with us.  There’s a flyer here.  And a FB invite here.  Spike Hill is located at 184 Bedford Avenue. We’re going to debut some new arrangements of new songs and older songs, including a version of our Robyn Cover.  You can find a recording of us practicing that one in my basement here.

Also, say you don’t live near Brooklyn, or maybe Thursday night you are determined to stay home to watch Parks and Recreation or something, but you still would like to see and hear us play songs live?

We did recently do this live in-studio performance and interview at Serious Business with our pal Maia from Breakthru Radio.  The video premiered today and you can watch it here: http://blip.tv/btrlivestudio/beat-radio-btr-live-studio-ep163-6386386

You can also listen to the full session on BTR here.  We got to perform 5 songs live and talk about lots of things including: Robyn (of course), The Wonder Years, Action Motors, what the new album is about, and my theory about how everyone in indie rock secretly has day jobs and/or permanent income.

On a related note: indie is dead.  Also, long live indie.

Ok, so, lots more great stuff coming soon.  Thanks for sticking with us/being awesome.

Love,
